  • Nothing is perfect

I have YET to see a perfect app. This app, like ALL the others has its flaws. If you’re looking for a way to monitor and assist your kids online activity while they use modern technology in a responsible manner, THIS IS THE APP FOR YOU. My kids are much better at time management because of the app. I tell all my friends with kids about it. Yes, its not as easy as it could be. Setting up the device/app is an art-form, not a science. The instructions are about 80% useful but I haven’t any other app work this well and regulate access like this and such a low price. When all else fails, I take a 30 min break from trouble-shooting and go watch a YouTube video or check online to see how others overcame the same issue. (About me: very tech savvy; used Disney Circle for about 2.5 years.)

App is good but the alert tone is way too loud!
  • Buggy product

Does not work as expected. Any Mac does not work with Any kind of filter. If I set teen or even adult filter on a Mac, it becomes useless, no network on it. I contacted their customer service so many times, but they don’t seem to get to the root cause of the issue. I wanted to return the router, just holding on to it as did not find a better solution yet.

I've tried several devices and services to manage my kids' Internet usage over the past couple of years and Circle is the best by far. The app could use some refinements, but overall I'm very pleased with the level of control and reporting. Initially, I hesitated to buy Circle because I have 1 Gbps internet service and Circle warned that it could slow down my connection. I was also concerned about reports of incompatibility with my eero network. Fortunately, neither turned out to be an issue for me and my Circle device has been working flawlessly for more than a month.
  • Want to love it

The features this have are far more robust than most apps I’ve seen like this. For example, tagging devices to users and aggregating time spent across all devices. This seems like such a no- rained to me, but few others do it. Unfortunately, Circle interferes with our Verizon Fios router and completely removes the info in the channel guide on the set top boxes. I’ve spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon and the only thing that would get the boxes working properly again was disconnecting Circle. After doing that, we went a few months without Circle and hooked it back up again in hopes that it’d work. Sure enough, after a couple days all the info in the guide was blank again. Great concept, but not well executed.
  • Would love time limits in ALL categories

It would be nice if time limits could be enforced against any allowed category. For example, mature and explicit content could be limited, under the adult level to 15 minutes per day/week. That way incidental access to these sites is not blocked but repeated purposeful attempts to access mature or explicit content are. Thanks!

Circle is an absolute must have device in a world full of screens. It allows families to manage content and time online as easily as tapping a button on your smartphone. As a parent to two young children, who are a wee bit addicted to screens--this has been a lifesaver. Circle is a beautifully designed little white box that pairs wirelessly with your router. It was so easy to install! You literally just plug it in, download the app, and set-up a profile for each family member. From the profiles you can manage what they have access to, how long they can use the device(s), and even set a wake-up/sleep time for each device. Not to mention a function to reward additional time online and monitor how much usage your child/ren uses on each device. Circle also has an optional service, Circle Go, for only $4.99 a month that allows you to manage up to 10 mobile devices on LTE/4G data and other WiFi networks outside of your home—perfect for families with teenagers! I do hope that in the future Circle will add more features, like the ability to manage device/app usage on a daily basis rather than a weekdays/weekends setting because we like to do Monday Movie Nights and Screenless Saturdays. As of now, I have to manually change the access. I would also like more fine tuned control. With that said—this is such a convenient tool to have! It takes away the hassle of fighting with your children when it’s time to turn the device(s) off because Circle just does it for you. And you can rest assured knowing that your children’s access to the internet/apps are safe, especially since Circle has a partnership with Common Sense Media

Um, can you explain to me why it says I’ve spend 5 minutes on Twitter, when I don’t even have a Twitter? At least if you’re going to show my parents what I’m spending my time on, don’t lie to them.
  • Easy to turn off
