Life Cycle - Track Your Time iOS App Details

Life Cycle - Track your time automatically From the team that brought you Sleep Cycle, we've created another app that helps you automatically track your day. Life Cycle automatically keeps track of your time and presents your life sorted into slices. It shows you your daily activities, places you go, and who you spend time with. Whether you’re just curious of how your time is spent or looking to make a change, Life Cycle is your daily companion, providing you with all the information and insights you need. What’s more - it uses only 1% of your phone’s battery while it seamlessly does the work. MAIN FEATURES FREE * Automatic - Life Cycle works in the background, recording and sorting what you do as you go about your daily business. * Less than 1% of your battery per day - Life Cycle uses less than 1% of your battery per day as it runs in the background. * From a day to a year - view your life day by day, week by week, month by month or even year by year. * Fully integrated with Apple Health. Imports Steps and Sleep Analysis data. * Friends - Connect with your friends on Facebook and see who you’re spending time with, what you’re doing and where. * Sleep Cycle connection - For accurate sleep data, connect with Sleep Cycle alarm clock through Apple Health. (Life Cycle only reads data from Health, it does not share any data. It reads Sleep Analysis and Steps data.) PREMIUM * Connect to your Sleep Cycle account - If you have an online backup account with Sleep Cycle, Life Cycle will let you know how your daily habits affect your sleep quality score. * Backup - Keep your data safe with our backup system. Never worry about losing your Life Cycle logs again. * Graphs - Beyond the donuts, Life Cycle also shows you in detailed graphs for deeper analysis, what you’re doing with your time. Just by looking at the visuals, you’ll gain insights on if you're doing what's really important to you. * Compare trends - see if you’re dropping in sleep hours, if you’re working too much or if you’ve taken longer walks this week. Compare trends over the weeks, months or years. BATTERY CONSUMPTION Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Life Cycle does not use the GPS in the background, but instead relies on cell tower and Wi-Fi locations. As a result, it consumes less than 1% of your battery per day, when the app runs in the background. REQUIREMENTS * Life Cycle needs to run in the background to be able to record your data. It only uses 1% of your battery per day when doing so. * You need to carry your phone with you, for Life Cycle to accurately record and interpret your activities. * Wi-Fi should be enabled on your phone for tracking to work. The optional Premium subscription costs $9.99 per year. Should you choose to subscribe to Life Cycle Premium, the purchase will be charged to your iTunes account. You can manage or cancel your auto-renewable subscription by entering the user settings in iTunes after the purchase. The subscription will be auto-renewed 24 hours before the subscription period ends, with the same kind of subscription you already bought, to the same price. It's not possible to abort the subscription during the time it's active. Terms of service: Privacy policy:

  • Is Premium $4.99 or $9.99?

    By Oh_That_MLE
I subscribed to Premium in 2017, assuming it would auto-renew as I was told. It did not. Now when I click to upgrade, I see a free 30-day trial and then $9.99/year. However, in the fine print it says $4.99/annually and the app indicates both prices for paid subscription. So, which is it? And the premium features are barely more than the free version. I used to like like Life Cycle, and I could typically ignore its quirks about location. But now, I’m finding myself not enjoying it. Transportation is a huge flaw (for me). If I use the auto-defined commute to work, the app can’t tell me stops I make on my way home. I had to create a new Work activity for that to happen. I also can’t determine the length of time I need to be somewhere for it to pick up the activity. It shows as little as 5 minutes for some, but others where I stayed 8-15 minutes somehow don’t appear. I haven’t noticed any great improvements in the last 12-18 months, and can’t justify $10 a year just for online backup.
  • Great App

Helpful analytics and nice record of where I've been.
  • Looks and feels fancy

This app looks and feels fancy! It’s cool using it. There were a few rough spots for the first few days where it didn’t quite understand where I was, but after those one or two times, everything after that is pretty cool. If only I could integrate when I’ve booted up my gaming console!
  • collecting data. Come back (3 days from now) to see the result!

Im sorry, i’m peeved at the fact this app needs 2-3 days prior to download to work, i dont think im leaving it on my phone, that's too long to get started having it to decide whether or not i like it.
  • Suddenly went Kaplooie

I’ve been using this app for about a year and it has been pretty good. However recently the app has been screwing up more and more. It sometimes shows me at the geographical location of my home (correct) but says I am eating at a taco place five miles away. It is also telling me I have gone on five hour walks. I know I haven’t been doing that! I am on v2.0.2.4022
  • Great but can still be improved

    By FUTUREpilot267
I love this app, I've been working two jobs over the summer and it's helped me keep track of how many hours I've been working and how much time I've spent driving or sitting at home. There are still a few areas that can be improved however. The weekly view would be way better if it updated each day instead of at the end of every week. The statistics can sometimes be really stupid, it'll tell me I've slept 6% more on a Sunday or something like that, who gives a crap about 6%? it's tiny. I think it would also be a good idea for there to be a map that shows your daily activities like the google maps timeline. Lastly I think it should track the routes you take each day. Update: After recent updates the weekly view now gets updated automatically, the statistics are much better, but I really think the map showing your activities would be a really good idea. I also think that the donut should be more like a timeline, in order, rather than chunks of different activities throughout your day.
  • Just finished a full year of using this.

    By HenCo1290
I don’t think I’ll be doing it again through 2018. It was kinda cool seeing my year chart, but I know my hours weren’t correct for everything. There were nights I didn’t log my sleep or naps, and days where I forgot to log where I was. The most annoying part of this is that it doesn’t automatically track commutes. I work on a bus and have to individually change transportation to work several times for every day. The developers have said for a long time they they’d be adding this feature and never did. Really annoying. Maybe I’ll come back to the app later if commutes are added, but in 2017 this app was just too much hassle for not much payoff.

I love looking at its data points!
  • Nice idea but horrible errors

    By xcwomac
I rarely write app reviews, especially negative ones, but I had to write one about Life Cycle. I’ve been using this app for a couple years, but I couldn’t stand it anymore, and I just deleted it. I don’t know if I’ve ever deleted an app based on sheer annoyance, and I very rarely delete apps at all! Every single week when this app tells me the weekly cycle is done and I review each day, there are always location and/or time errors. Some I can fix, some the app refuses to allow me to edit. Some of them are beyond ridiculous and inexplicable where it could’ve gotten the wrong data and why I can’t fix it. But the straw that broke the camel’s back for me today is that the app insists I was at an airport from 4:59 p.m. Thursday to 11:53 a.m. Friday. I was in reality in the last few hours of a visit at my parents’ that entire time, at their house, miles away. Twice I manually edited it and tried to override that errant data, but both times it reverted back to claiming I was at the airport all those hours. It’s insane. Their house isn’t even close to the airport, I never drove near the airport Thursday, and my WiFi was on the entire time, connected to their home WiFi, not even in the same town. In reality, I was at the airport from about 11:45 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. on Friday. I am so tired of dealing with how annoying this app is, especially when it won’t let me fix their wrong, crazy data, and the app developer never improves/fixes these problems, despite the fact that I’ve provided feedback. Goodbye, Life Cycle. Hope you figure it out someday.
  • Annoying

I did like this app but today I got a notification saying “seems like the weekly donut reminders aren’t helpful. We’re turning them off” umm excuse me?? That just sounds a little sarcastic and rude. I didn’t ask for them to be turned off. Excuse me if I haven’t had time to go into the app and set things. Think it’s time to delete if I’m going to get notifications like that.
