iOS App Reviews

  • Believe the negative reviews by long time users

    By The Father's Daughter
I bought this app since it did one thing that other apps that annotate pdf’s do not do—the ability to open the pdf and mark it up while making notes in a pdf you create. And all within one app. No need to use split view with two different apps. This app looks very plain. It must do more but is difficult to learn. If the developers take all the critics seriously—people who loved previous versions—maybe they will restore the value by adding what people want and feel they lost. If the app had some short videos showing what the app can do, it would help tremendously. Maybe I could find more than one reason to use it. There are just too many dissatisfied former users. And I look forward to a friendlier notes app I already have being upgraded to do what I need it to do. As far as videos: For an example, go to youtube and search on paperless student and look at her videos on “Everything you need to know about notability or Liquid Text or Goodnotes.” If potential users or currents users knew how to use your app, there may be more interest in it and ratings might go up.
  • Great App

    Great app for research
  • Terrible update

    By SanSonValdez
I regret not reading the reviews before, spent 10 dollars to downgrade. The previous version had a better interface and was easier to manage multiple storage locations, I started looking for other options already.
  • Latest update is absurd

    By Petkoff
So navigating through documents, searching, using bookmarks and notes have undergone a complete change for what i can only assume is to make it easier for someone on an iPhone. Before this app-breaking update I could see thumbnails of pages on the left, or searches, or bookmarks and the entire document would resize itself so i could see the full page along with the search or bookmarks on the left. Now the geniuses who make this app have decided to put the search or thumbnails or notes ON TOP OF the page. Why would this be an improvement? Now the page is obscured so I have to find one word of many I’m searching, go to that page, and then close the search window to read what I need. Then reopen the search window start again and close when I find the next instance. Now I basically need to find out how to restore the previous version that I felt deserved 5 stars. What the hell is the developer thinking?
  • Hate the upgrade

    By Hhh333222
The pop up menu replacing the navigation in the left menu is a horrible change. I used the app to annotate records in court proceedings, which have lengthy indexes to the pleadings that are file in a date ordered menu that was on the left simultaneously with the existing document open. Please go back to the former method, or make the choices available through a settings menu. Very disappointed with the change and will be using an older version and not this until this is sorted.
  • Please make auto-backup optional!!!

    By Yankee ICUDoc
New feature - auto-back up - can’t be shut off - so if you have a workflow that includes opening a PDF from and email - signing it - filing it - now you go to file it and it files automatically somewhere and you can’t find it! Also - when it is looking at your cloud files - and you go to sort by date - the sort does not work and it stays sorted by name - please fix this as well!!
  • The best, dominates the rest

    By FistOf Strength
The developers keep making this app better and better. Worth the cost of the app and more. One request: the new search bar to find documents in cloud storage is fantastic, but it won't save the list of finds, and the bar is too truncated, especially when I a get a long list of file names all with the same initial words but different endings, which don't appear. Please fix developers by making the font smaller so more of long file names appear! I would give ten stars if Apple would let me! Thanks for a great app!
  • Bring back page numbers for annotations!

Hate the new update. Can’t find my comments without page numbers. Whose idea it was to remove them? Fire this person.
  • Navigation

    By schuetzre
Love this app and use it all day every day. Most recent update seems to have eliminated the left hand search pane in favor of a pop up window. The old method allowed me to keep the left pane open to show all my annotations and still interact with the document. New approach makes me open and close the annotation list every time. This significantly interrupts my workflow for no obvious gain. Has been a great product for so many years but this change seems retrograde for heavy users. Bob S.
  • Keeps getting worse

    By nxs5
Why does this app keep getting worse with every update? The problems with file management have been well documented. The latest change involves the navigation tool. It used to be on the left margin, and would show a list of icons representing each annotation you made, with page numbers indicated for each icon. Clicking on the icon brought you to that annotation in your document, and if you want to go to the next annotation, you simply clicked on the next icon. Now, that panel is a pop up menu, with no page number listed. So, in a 50 page document with 25 annotations, how do you begin to decide which icon to click if you want to go to an annotation on page 30? Then, after you click on an icon, the pop-up menu disappears, so when you realize you wanted to go to a different annotation, you have to bring up the pop-up menu again. Even worse, the menu does not indicate which icon you last clicked on, so you can’t even figure out which icon is for the next annotation, let alone an annotation that might be 10 pages further in the document. I’m ready to go back to version 3, or look elsewhere.
