Canary Mail - Secure Email App iOS App Details

Modern email apps compromise on security or features. Canary does not. Some of your most important info is shared via email, which is why we built end-to-end encryption into our app. This ensures only you and the person you're communicating with can read what is sent, and nobody in between, not even your provider. All of this happens automatically: no need to turn on settings or set up special secret keys to secure your emails. Welcome to secure, effortless, email. **ENCRYPTION ON DEMAND** With Canary's one-click encryption, you can effortlessly enhance your email security. The email is encrypted on your device and decrypted on your recipient's device. It will be unreadable on your provider's web interface, or by anyone else on any other app! • Automatic: Automate the key exchange to focus on crunching emails, without worrying about security. • Manual: Advanced PGP users can manage their own keys and exchange encrypted emails with anyone. **FOCUS ON WHAT'S IMPORTANT** With natural language search, smart filters, algorithmic bulk cleaner, and intelligent typography enhancements, Canary helps you easily find and act on what's important, and get rid of what's not! • Focused Inbox:Canary learns which emails are important to you and highlights them for easy access. Intelligent typography enchancements ensure optimum readability. • Natural Language Search: Search for photos from dad, receipts this month, or unread newsletters. Canary understands what you're looking for and finds it first time, everytime. • Smart Filters: Quickly isolate unread emails, or emails with attachments. Check if you've missed replying via the unanswered filter. Gmail users can also access their Inbox tabs / categories. • Bulk Cleaner: Canary's adaptive algorithms learn which emails are likely to be unimportant. Tap on the magic wand and scroll to automatically find, select, and then delete unwanted emails. **POWERFUL FEATURES** Don't pay a monthly fee for features you want and need. With Canary, you always have full access! • Read Notifications: Get notified when your emails are read. • Snooze: Deal with emails at your convenience. • Email Templates: Avoid repetition. Save and re-use frequently sent emails. • One-Click Unsubscribe: No need to look for pesky unsubscribe links. **SEAMLESS INTEGRATIONS** Email plays a central role when it comes to files, events, and tasks. So we made sure Canary plays nice with your favorite apps! • Google Drive • Dropbox • Todoist • Things • iCal • Google Calendar • Giphy • Keybase & MIT **USE YOUR FAVORITE EMAIL PROVIDER** Get all of Canary's powerful features and cutting-edge encryption technology with your existing email account(s). Just add your account(s) and go! • Gmail • iCloud • Office 365 • Yahoo • Custom IMAP • Exchange (if IMAP is enabled on server)

  • Does canary read gmail

    By csaids
Does or has canary read google mail or gmail accounts?
  • Awesome to have PGP built in, design not so great

    By codebeta
The PGP integration ia great and easy to use. Works as expected. The app does need a lot of work in the design department and documentation of settings. The app settings are all in one place, not easy to understand and can be overwhelming for a non-tech savy user. Some settings only have one word and no explanation as to what exactly they do. I was unable to use the Exchange connection with my email provider. The app just says error and doesn't explain what is wrong. Still think the app is worth the cost and will be using it. Hopefully the design is made better in future versions.
  • Alright the best email app there is.

    By love maker want rss
Ok this app is definitely the best email for both desktop and mobile. Would love though to have dark version for typing the email the rest is dope as it is.
  • Had to switch apps

    By PrincessMassacre
It provides a good bang for the buck feature wise and in terms of security. But if you run into an issue or bug, you’re on your own. Support doesn’t respond to emails or check their instant messages that are so highly regarded in the app. Email drafts don’t render for me properly at all and this issue still hasn’t been addressed. I had to go back to newton mail because of this.
  • Quite good, needs the ability to turn off annoying notifications

    By seeminglyrob
Good design, decent feature set, and encryption by default is nothing to sneeze at. Overall I'm pleased, this may be enough to lure me away from Airmail. Gripes: constant notifications nagging about product features, with no way to turn them off. It also takes too many taps to switch between accounts when not using the unified inbox. Lastly, it desperately needs keyboard support (there is precisely zero support atm). If those change, I'll update my review.
  • Battery life issues

    By Splinter Alpine
I have been using canary for several months now and really like it. The latest update however has left my battery draining very rapidly something like 40% during the day when I only check my email maybe once or twice. Please fix this bug ASAP as I love the app otherwise.
  • Liked it okay until it crashed and lost my draft

    By sorchay
I paid to download Canary (didn’t realize there is a trial period?), have been using it for two days so far and liking it pretty well. It seems quite robust. But as I was wrapping up an important email this morning - one that will be difficult to reconstruct - the app crashed and no draft was saved. I’ve looked everywhere. I feel insecure now about using the app if auto save isn’t functioning as I type. Canary was the only app open on my iPad at the time and for some reason went *poof.*
  • watchOS Complication support

    By Thresher the Shark
The watchOS version of Canary Mail needs to add the ability to have a complication on watch faces ASAP!
  • Problem fixed!

So I first had a signature issue. I brought to tech support’s attention. Now it’s all good to go! Thanks
  • Read receipt not working for the past week

    By c141flyer
Out of the blue I noticed that read receipts are no longer working. As of 30 April.
