iOS App Reviews

  • Fabulous (like a all WordWeb’s desktop software)

    By x66565875875876
This Chambers app is an amazing app, like all of Word Webs. Here are my recommendations to the developer for mobile: (1) Just as with your desktop software, let you switch in tabs between all the dictionaries and thesauruses you purchase. That is a critical feature in your desktop applications and increases their value and makes it sensible to buy ALL your dictionaries. This would be a moneymaker for WordWeb and great for users. (2) Why not sell your other desktop dictionaries on mobile? No work and more revenue, and your users would benefit. Here is my recommendation regarding Desktop: (1) Please make the spacing and placement of lines of text consistent as one switches between the tabs of WordWeb books. (2) Please use MacOS built-in support for graphics card acceleration for more natural resizing on the wide variety of displays. It looks really bad as you resize and for a business to purchase this app for this users, that raises questions of longevity.
  • A must have app

Very useful and I definitely recommend it to everyone
  • outstanding, excellent, superb 😁

I have nothing but good things to say about this thesaurus. It’s well designed and straightforward. The listings are comprehensive and cross-referenced, making it easy to find the perfect word. And I’ve never experienced a glitch or had to pay an additional fee. Hats off to the developers for doing such a great job.
  • Paltry vocabulary

    By porkins8888
This app feels like they just repurposed Apple's stock thesaurus and strapped a price tag on it. Very disappointed with the meager vocabulary this thesaurus offers. A waste of time and money.

There are some word-processing functions I must use my Windows ; (. Laptop for, and I keep my iPad next to me so I can use this app and the Chambers dictionary app. This is indispensable to me, easy to use with many suggestions. Well worth the small cost.
  • A must for word-mavens!

The old standby, revamped for iOS 7—nice work!
  • New icon

    By tmcfie
I thought the simple new icon was great. But this one is ok too. Great tool. Thx
  • Perfect for crosswords

    By I'm not Han
True to the print edition, this app is perfect for crosswords. The search feature allows for fuzzy matching, which is incredibly useful.
  • awesome

    By Samian86
This thesaurus is great. It's the only thesaurus I have found on the app store that categorizes which of the words are formal and/or colloquial. My only complaint is that the red background of the icon is a different shade of red than that of the Chambers dictionary icon. It kind of annoys me.
  • Tried all. This is best.

It's far from perfect and nothing can match the Roget's in book form, but it sure beats the other apps including the one that's called Roget's but really isn't.
