iOS App Reviews

  • Location not working!!!

    By Emillll
It keep saying that I am in New York every time time I select to show me where I am. Other problem is it stays connected to location service even if the app is complete closed (not even in the background) and it consumes all my battery, I have to turn off the location manually from settings.
  • Will not work

    By JPheel
Not sure why, but the latest version with bug fixes will not install so the app is not working!!
  • Crash

Seems touching anything makes this app crash
  • Long Delays, Not Worth It

Whether I'm on the hotel WiFi or out and about Paris without WiFi, this app doesn't work. The only thing that works is the subway map I've downloaded. Anything else - What's Nearby, Places to Eat - just spins for up to 30 seconds and then times out. Obviously, a mobile tour guide that requires WiFi to do most things is just broken by design. But this one is even worse - even when you give it WiFi access, it doesn't work. Recommend Patricia Wells Food Lovers Guide to Paris or Andrew Thatcher's Guide to Paris (Free for now) as much better if less theoretically comprehensive alternatives - I say theoretically because Fodors should have more info, but it's not showing any.
  • Don't buy this

I know Paris well, and this is Paris for other words, for the folks who already on the tourists buses. This is a fine thing to do, the buses I mean, but once around on them this lists little more. The maps are odious, tiny and cannot be used offline except in the crudest way with most streets missing, on the iPhone. The restaurants are all well known and very expensive. If you are a millionaire and have data roaming the information on getting places is pretty useful...but most folks from overseas wouldn't dream of paying for data roaming.
  • Good articles but has flaw

    By Evadcerm
The features and insights part of the app provided some great tips (which flea markets to shop for what) but there was no associated map feature connected to most of their suggestions - had to back out of in the menu and search under Fodors choice (1 market). None of the other markets were listed under shopping or the associated neighborhoods. Nearby suggestions required a data connection as opposed to trip advisor which was fully available as a download and therefore no data connection required out and about. Recommended itineraries tough to follow without an associated real time mapping feature or even a preprogrammed map that integrates with the gps tracking. Trip advisor, while much slimmer on background history given it is user content, had such a feature for its self directed itineraries. Subway map useful but I would pay the .99 cents for the official paris metro map app which includes bus routes (some recommended for cheap sightseeing) and shows the associated road grid (instead of just subway stops with no point of reference). All on all, a decent free app for background on a certain neighborhood or attraction - restaurant recommendations were limited. Mostly I used trip advisor app for mapping/tracking/reviews (easier to get to offline map with already downloaded reviews on over 6000 restaurants - can also use yelp though not all in English) and just use Fodors for background history/articles.
  • Highly recommend.

Well designed and packed with useful information.
  • Not bad

Tested it on a recent trip to Paris. Much better than the Lonely Planet app.
  • Subway map the only good thing

    By Nelson Kim
I downloaded this app and downloaded the offline map. Half the time it couldn't find the street and I tried zooming in and th app crashed. Recommended things to do and places to eat weren't very good. I used this app only for the subway map which was very very handy to have. I had to use a combo of 3 apps to get around Paris.
  • Needs Some Offline Map Fixing

    By Jakswin
The offline maps seem like they would be great since they show both the street and metro stops, but I try to use it offline it is not allowing me to zoom and/or it keeps freezing or closing the app. Please fix it!!!
