iOS App Reviews

  • Newby - I like it

    By Tedtoal
I am not an artist but I want to try my hand at drawing. I’ve been playing around with the program to learn the tools. I really like it, it’s fun! I have the Apple Pencil and it is working great. It has taken me a while to figure out what to do to make the stroke get wider when you hold the pencil flatter - turns out that only works with a couple tips on a couple tools, which is ok. It crashed once when I was trying out editing the blended colors, but otherwise has been solid. One thing I don’t like is the large number of spelling, grammatical, and typo errors on the web site, it makes it seem unprofessional.

Love the app. It’s help me to grow both on computer, paper, and on my devices. It’s my favorite art app. It’s simple yet complex. It takes a while to do things, but you know exactly what you need to use. Thx Tayasui Development Team!!! I do have a few requests however, -Hue Changer -Journal Rearrangement -Masking Tool
  • Doesn't work well with Pogo Connect stylus

    By Outfought
I would change my rating to five stars if this app worked well with my stylus. I've followed all suggestions for getting it to work well. What happens is the app slows down so much that it becomes completely unusable with my Pogo Connect (first generation ) stylus. Otherwise it's a truly wonderful app.

  • Great for drawing AND image editing

    By AaronD12
I don’t have an artistic bone in my body. People look like stick figures. Houses look like they’re made from straws. I regularly get put down by little girls for my drawing inability. I do, however, use Photoshop and similar applications for image editing. This program does a very good job of allowing to edit images - so much that my wife gasped at how good this program allowed me to touch up some photographs. If you can draw, this is the program for you. If you need a good image editor, this is the program for you. In short, get this program.
  • Getting Better

    By sorry4ever
This app is improving and I am beginning to enjoy it more. I had some trouble in the past with getting used to how it worked and learning how to use the tools. But as I improve, so does this app. I like it more now than in the past. Just for reference, I am including my past reviews to follow this one. Review of November 04, 2017: French? Review of December 14, 2016: Updating my review: Well, I updated the app and I looked around a bit. They added coloring books for adults and children. The adult coloring books look very intricate. I sort of got a little dizzy looking at them. The children's coloring books look like fun! I didn't tap on their corresponding locks because I am guessing - just guessing - that once you tap on the lock you will have to pay in order to download them. And I'm wondering how much they will cost. Anyway, I will update my review once I find out more information. In the meantime, here is my previous review if anyone is interested. I wrote it on August 08, 2016: >The results are nice. But it takes a lot of patience to get there because the app is very annoying to use. I do not have an iPad Pro, nor an Apple Pencil. I use a Targus stylus. But it doesn't matter what I use to draw. I just cannot seem to get along with this app. I have been using it for months because I keep trying to get it to cooperate with me and my iPad. It's not a very old iPad, but not a new one either. I find this app to be very frustrating to use because of the slow, or no response. I can't get the tools to stop getting in the way. I try to paint almost to the edges of the canvas and the iPad's Control Center will pop up. Then when I try to paint something towards the top of the iPad, the iPad's Notification window will come down over my artwork. I don't have to blame the app. However, I haven't had much of a problem with other art apps, and I have a handful of them on my iPad that I use often. On the other hand, I think this app has beautiful colors and great effects. I just wish I could use them the way they should be used. I guess I'll just keep trying - if I can find the patience. For now, I am giving the app three (3) Stars. Thanks anyway.
