iOS App Reviews

  • Non-functional, violates App Store guidelines

    By Seelhoff
I have had this app for the past several years and always wince when the subscription payment is taken. This year, after my renewal, the application refuses to recognize my payment and demands my email address and personal information to “register” before it does anything useful. Worse, it has a showstopper bug that fails all attempts to login (which is not supposed to be required in the first place). Therefore, I sit here during a live F1 session with a $27 app that does NOTHING. I have been following every Formula One Race since 1985, and this kind of money grab makes me reconsider how I spend my time. Formula E provides great racing and better (and less expensive) access... Hmmm.
  • App is still buggy

When trying to join a live session on my iPad the app plays the international broadcast by default, which is fine, but when changing it to no commentary in the settings nothing changes. This issue was present last season but would be fixed by killing and restarting the app, this season it appears that is not the case though. Issue does not occur when I join a live session on my iPhone.
  • This App is an Embarrassment to F1

I was excited about the start of the 2018 season and decided to subscribe. That was probably a mistake as this app is broken and very frustrating to use. There seems to be a delay throughout the entire user interface. (Did I press that button? I think so, but nothing is happening) Not only did it hang and crash the first time I launched it, but now I can't get the live timing audio settings to be recognized. I don't want commentary. Too bad, changing the audio settings to no commentary does nothing. Decided to read an article on the Australian GP first practice session results. Oddly, only some lap times were shown. Clicking the "Show More" button takes you out of the app and launches the F1 site in a browser!! What?! Why put articles in the app if they are incomplete?! Even worse, in Safari I get a pop up asking if I want to open the article in the F1 app! You mean the app that just sent me to a web browser? Is anyone in charge of this mess?
  • Very, very much improved

    By dmpyron
The app turned out great last year and looks to have not been with messed with. But I can turn the audio comnentary OFF. One of those things that might have been difficult to test. But the code should be pretty obvious. It's FP2 at Australia and I'd expect a fix by lights out Then it gets five stars, again
  • Can’t sign in

    By daveb1971
I’ve been a subscriber to this app for years. Now I can’t sign in and when I try to do a password reset, I can’t get an email for verification. It really shouldn’t have to be this difficult.
  • Better!

    By Wetpixels
I checked every feature and they all work; just in time for the 2018 season! (I still can’t stand the font for headlines, but it’ll get over it!) Thanks for taking care of the issues and enjoy the season!
  • OK

The app is working again after being updated. I'll update my review after the season starts.
  • Almost works not update 2018

Better than ever. Video actually loads and plays. The flashing articles has stopped. I would expect a media company to do media. In car could be good IF IT WORKS. Stay tuned
  • Can’t register or log in

    By Hobss
I downloaded the app with the intention to subscribe to the premium package. It would not accept any of the email addresses I provide. I try to register on the web which I successfully do and then try to put my credentials in the iPad app. Incorrect password. I select the option to retrieve the password to the email I registered in the web but I get no email. Is this a joke?
  • Edit: Better, but still glitchy

    By FBgetsthebird
Videos don’t play, articles load in a broken way that would normally require a warning for those sensitive to rapidly flashing lights, and overall the app is a frustrating experience. If Formula 1 is trying to grow it’s fan base, it needs to start with its largest potential audience: those with smart phones. Currently, this app is shamefully broken. EDIT: As of the latest update (March 19), the app has less glitches and is loading properly (for now), though it still crashes and forced closes sometimes. Thanks for listening Dev Team.
