Bumble - Meet New People iOS App Details

Over 30 million people have signed up for Bumble to start building valuable relationships, finding friends, and making empowered connections. Creating new connections has never been easier. Bumble is working to lift the stigma of online dating by employing unprecedented standards for respectful behavior. Because of this relentless dedication, millions of people are using Bumble to build valuable relationships every single day. DATE, MEET FRIENDS, NETWORK Bumble is at the forefront of matchmaking technology by providing an app that allows users to foster more than just romantic connections. The industry-leading app empowers users to swipe through potential connections across three different modes: Bumble: On Bumble, women make the first move. We’ve changed the archaic rules of the dating game so that you can form meaningful relationships in a respectful way. Bumble BFF: Life is better with friends. Whether you’re new to a city or looking to expand your circle, Bumble BFF is the easiest way to make new friends. Bumble Bizz: Now we’re in business. Use Bumble Bizz to network, find mentors, and create new career opportunities. Bumble is the first app of its kind to bring dating, friend-finding, and career-building into a single social networking platform. CHANGING THE RULES OF THE GAME At Bumble, women make the first move. In heterosexual matches, the woman has 24 hours to make the first move and the man has 24 hours to respond. In same-sex matches, either person has 24 hours to make the first move, while the other individual has 24 hours to respond, or else, the connection expires. By prompting our users to be bold and make the first move we’ve seen over 3 billion messages sent to date. THE BUZZ IS REAL “Bumble exists to empower women...” (Fast Company) “Bumble is just an app: but it’s changing the discussion.” (Wired) “Bumble offers an alternative that prioritises meaningful connections, with women calling the shots:” (UK Sunday Times) “Bumble rejects hate speech to make users feel safe on its dating app” (Texas Standard) “What makes Bumble different from other dating apps...is its focus on giving women all the power. ” (Business Insider) --- Bumble is free to download and use. • Block Feature doesn’t work

I like that they have a “bff” feature to meet new friends. I originally got it for the dating feature though. Pretty useless because they will show you people you already swiped left on. Also, I blocked a bunch of my ex’s friends when they showed up as potential friends and all of them showed up again in my suggested matches (AKA blocking does nothing on this app). Even worse — when I emailed their support team the girl claimed they were “making new accounts “ and their block feature works fine. Uh, NO. I doubt that over 9 people would make “new accounts” using the exact same pics in the exact same order with the exact same bio as the first time around. Also, they don’t let you set your location manually and they automatically detect your location then show you matches “nearby.” Annoying and useless if you are traveling for one weekend. It also only shows you matches up to a max of 100 miles away. You’re better off using OkCupid or Tinder.
  • Bumble is sexist.

I downloaded this app, because I thought it would be a cool alternative to tinder, but I quickly realized that it is extremely sexist. People who identify as male on this app cannot speak unless spoken to. Women have to send the first message. I would understand if this was an opt-in feature, but as far as I can tell this is baseline. Whether or not I want to send the first message is irrelevant. This is so sexist. Imagine if this was flipped? Imagine if women were forcibly silenced until the man made the first move. Guys, do NOT download this “progressive, feministic” app. It is sexist and stereotypes people based on gender.
  • Overrated and fake

I have been on this now for over two months (or rather giving it a chance again for two months after trying previously). I paid for the subscription because I was tired of swiping every single day to not get any matches and was tired of seeing the little green circles there (showing you had matches somehow, somewhere) but yet never seemed to match with anyone. Not to mention the 100s of drop dead gorgeous models, doctors, CEOs and other top level job women who you never see anywhere in real life. As with some of the other reviews below, I’ve had plenty of friends who have looked at my pictures, my profile, who think I’m a good looking guy with a great job and they’ve wanted to set their friends up with me... and even they can’t understand why I go days or even weeks with no matches. But yet as soon as I end my subscription, the very next day there are the mysterious green circles waiting for that day I have a match somewhere waiting for me. Do yourselves a favor and don’t pay for this app. It collects your subscription fee as a dupe and then baits you again using loneliness as the hook.

Seems great so far and isn’t just a hook up site
  • Definitely Fake

This site is loaded with fake profiles and I rarely get likes. I’m not hideous by any means but the way this app is configured either the profiles are fake or Bumble can control matches weather or not they feel you deserve a match. Keep away!!
  • Sexist! Lol.

I posted a pic of myself after hard sparring in the gym. No shirt but otherwise fully clothed. Females can post pics in bikinis or in their underwear in the bath. But other than that it’s a decent app.
  • Great change from other sites

The matches are better looking, professionals, and a lot nicer to chat with. Plus, no more random and vulgar messages from men that I wouldn’t ever give the time of day to.
  • Location based??

I really like this app and the intent of it but it’s annoying that when I’m traveling, the app adjust to where I am. If I live in DC, I don’t want to try and match with people in California just because I’m there for the moment.

I’m happy with everything in here but... I should be able to see all the once I swipe to the right side... Thanks
  • It’s ok, nothing more special than any other dating app

To be honest I think the fact that bumble BFF only matches people with same sex friends is kind of silly. If I meet people out and about I tend to connect better with men and most of my friends are men. I don’t tend to get along with women very well but I also don’t want to date any men. I’m only looking for friends. It would be nice if it was an option to find opposite sex friends. I have no idea why they decided friends could only be same sex, that’s mind blowing to me. I’ve been looking for an app to help me make friends for years and this one really doesn’t help with that at all.
